Our History

Tarheel Building Systems of New Bern, Inc. was founded in September 1981 by Henry "Bud" Stilley and Burney Hawkins, who have a combined 62 years of building experience. Our founders' expertise and dedication to their craft have enabled us to successfully complete over 600 projects, including metal building design and erection, conventional commercial, commercial interiors, and retrofit roofing. Our construction expertise has also been utilized on projects in various locations, such as Estonia, West Virginia, and South Carolina.
