About Our History

In 1957, Albert and Gertrude Salt started a wood pressure treatment facility in Fayetteville, NC. In 1959, we moved our plant to Cove City, NC, where we began to introduce new products to Eastern North Carolina. We introduced "salt treated lumber, " a water-soluble chemical that was forced into the wood through a combined process of vacuum and pressure. Our company, Salt Wood Products, Inc., has since grown to become a leading retailer of building products in the region.
