Home Builders Association

The Home Builders Association of Southeast Texas is a professional non-profit trade association that represents the construction and remodeling industry. Our members include contractors, suppliers, lenders, utilities, and others whose primary interest is the promotion, protection, and improvement of the building industry. We are chartered in 1963 and were developed to help builders and associates involved in construction to better face their challenges through unified action. Our association represents Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, Sabine, and San Augustine Counties.

Our mission is to promote the American Dream through an alliance of professional builders and vendors serving the Southeast Texas community by working to ensure the quality and affordability of housing today and for future generations. We actively monitor local, state, and national legislative and regulatory changes that affect the residential construction industry. Our staff works closely with the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to protect your business interests and keep you informed.

Dana Cook is responsible for the overall administration and operations of the association. She is the staff liaison to the Board of Directors and oversees various aspects of the association, including preparing and monitoring the operational budget, corporate minutes, and member correspondence. She also provides support to all committees and is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with legislators and their staff.

We offer many opportunities for members to meet and network with others in the building industry through training seminars, general membership meetings, fundraisers, and other various events. These events give HBASET members the opportunity to develop long-lasting business relationships and friendships. We usually hold our general membership meetings on the third Tuesday of every month, which are free to members and potential members.
