Our History

Spencer Home Center was established in 1978 by John Spencer, who had previously managed and partnered in the former Lambert Building Supply. After purchasing the business, John and his wife, Judith, renamed the business in 1988 and relocated to a new, modern facility to service the growing needs of the county. This innovative approach featured Virginia's first drive-through building material warehouse, and John served as a leader and President of the former Virginia Building Material Association. Today, the business is owned and managed by Eric Spencer, who continues to build upon the fine reputation started by his parents.
