G & S Trucking

Opelt Sand & Gravel, LLC, and G&S Trucking of Neillsville, Inc., are two local businesses that have been serving the community for over 70 years. Our company was founded in 1947 by Carl Opelt, who started with just a horse and buggy. Over the years, we have expanded and grown to become a leading provider of excavating and trucking services in the area.

In 1972, the business was passed on to Carl's sons, Gordon "Butch" Opelt and his three brothers. G&S Trucking was then established in 1984 by Gordon and Scott Opelt to further expand the business. By 1997, Butch's three sons, Scott, Mike, and Carl, took over the operations of Opelt Sand and Gravel and G&S Trucking. Under their leadership, the businesses have continued to grow and expand, now owning over 16 semis and dump trucks, as well as a continuously growing gravel pit.

We recently started operating a new pit in the Colby area, which has given us more opportunities to offer a variety of materials and services to our customers. This new pit has also allowed us to service more customers and provide them with the best possible products and services.

Services We Offer

We provide agricultural, residential, and commercial materials for a variety of needs, along with free estimates and excavation jobs. Customers can have G&S Trucking haul materials to their locations, or they can pick up materials in the pit and haul them themselves.

Materials We Provide

Our materials include seal coat stone, decorative rock, base coarse, breaker run, Ag lime, and bedding sand. We also offer sewer system materials and a variety of crushed granite and sands. Our decorative stone selection includes a variety of crushed granite and natural river rocks in different sizes. Additionally, we provide top soil and blue granite for various applications.
