At Bunyaad, we are passionate about preserving the rich cultural heritage of traditional rug-making and empowering artisans to create exceptional, heirloom-quality rugs. Our story began in 1982 when we started working with Bunyaad artisans in Pakistan to create hand-knotted, fair-trade rugs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide vital and fair income to Pakistani rug artisans who otherwise would have very few sustainable outlets for their craft and artistry. We believe in the inherent value of art for art's sake and the importance of preserving traditional techniques and cultural heritage. By promoting fair trade practices, we aim to create a sustainable and equitable global economy.

Our Artisans

Our artisans are the backbone of our organization. With over 850 families from over 100 villages involved in hand-knotted rug production, our artisans are the skilled craftsmen and women who bring our rugs to life. We provide them with fair wages, allowing them to focus on creativity, quality, and attention to detail.

Our Products

We offer a wide range of hand-knotted, heirloom-quality rugs made from natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and silk. Our rugs are crafted using traditional techniques and are available in a variety of styles, including Persian, Bokhara, and Tribal designs.
