Our Story

GJ's Home & Office Furniture has been a staple in the Peru community since November of 2009. Rooted in a history of providing quality furniture at accessible prices, the store began as Dawalt Office Furniture, established by Gloria and John Hentgen's brother-in-law, Cary Dawalt. Gloria, a dedicated employee of Dawalt Office Furniture for fifteen years, witnessed firsthand the store's success and the appreciation customers had for their service and selection. When Cary retired, Gloria and John saw an opportunity to not only continue that legacy but also expand upon it. They purchased the store, infused it with their own vision, and added a line of home furniture, creating the diverse and welcoming GJ's we know today.
