Our dedication to excellence extends to the materials we use, sourcing sustainable building products, including FSC-certified lumber whenever possible, and specializing in the use of recycled, reconstituted, and reclaimed materials. We are also committed to using only the highest quality materials and building methods, with all work done by local, skilled craftsmen. Our products are formaldehyde-free, and we do not use particle boards or melamine unless specifically requested.

John McCabe and the Sierra Craftsman Team

Sierra Craftsman is run by John McCabe, who has been building custom homes for over 25 years. With a background in high-end colonial and Victorian-style houses in the mid-Atlantic region, John found his calling in the Sierra Nevada mountains, moving there with his wife Heather in 1999. Their two children are loving mountain life as much as their parents.
