Our Story

Sisu Builders was formed in 2011 by Josh Jipson, who brought his ten years of residential and commercial construction experience back to his hometown of Lakeside, Wisconsin. With a passion for building and a drive to create something unique, Josh founded Sisu Builders with the goal of providing top-notch construction services that not only meet but exceed client expectations. The company name, Sisu, is a Finnish word that translates to strength of will, spirit, and courage in the face of adversity, a tribute to Josh's 100-percent Finnish grandmother, Helen (Waara) Thornton.
