Listen. Design. Build. Repeat.

Welcome to Cochran's Stone Masonry, where we've been dedicated to preserving and restoring historic structures for over 25 years. Our expertise in traditional masonry techniques and materials has made us a trusted partner for owners, architects, and builders across America. We've had the privilege of working on iconic sites like James Madison's Montpelier and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as numerous private structures.

Our success is built on attention to detail, particularly in our use of high-calcium, aged, lime mortar and lime-clay mortar, which we produce in our own kiln. We also have a vast inventory of salvaged stones, old timbers, and logs, making us capable of manufacturing any component necessary for your project. Our team, led by Allen Cochran, includes experts who share his passion for preserving traditional building methods.

Allen Cochran, our founder, has spent over 30 years in the stone masonry business, apprenticing in time-honored methods before founding Cochran's Stone Masonry. He's been honored by the Loudoun Preservation Society as Preservationist of the Year and continues to teach traditional lime mortar courses. His team members, all natives of the Blue Ridge Mountains region, bring their own heritage and expertise to every project.

From historic preservation and restoration to the creation of period-inspired new structures, Cochran's Stone Masonry is committed to ensuring that every project blends seamlessly with its surroundings. We take pride in our ability to manufacture any component necessary to meet clients' expectations, using materials and methods that respect the integrity of the original structure. Whether you're restoring a treasured landmark or building a new structure, we're here to help you achieve your vision.
