Questions
What are the environmental benefits of solar energy?
Solar power reduces greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants while offsetting fossil fuel consumption. Modern solar panels typically offset their carbon footprint within 1-3 years of operation.
How does solar interact with the utility grid?
Grid-tied systems use net metering to credit excess generation while maintaining grid connection. Solar with battery storage allows continued operation during outages and reduces grid dependence.
What financing options are available for solar?
Homeowners can purchase systems outright or use clean energy loans through partners like Credit Human, which specializes in solar financing with no origination fees.
How long do solar panels last?
Solar panels typically produce power for 25+ years with manufacturer warranties covering power output. Inverters generally require replacement midway through the system's lifespan.
Can solar work with my existing roof?
Most roof types including metal, asphalt shingle, and membrane roofs accommodate solar installations. Our team evaluates structural integrity during site assessments to ensure safe installation.
What maintenance do solar systems require?
Solar systems need minimal maintenance with recommended service checks every 3-5 years. Inverters typically require replacement after 12-15 years while panels maintain 80%+ efficiency after 25 years.
