Our Story

Boulevard Nurseries has a rich history dating back to 1910 when it first opened its doors to the community as a nursery. Over the years, we have evolved from being a centerpiece of Aquidneck Island to a smaller Garden Center and landscape company. Mike and John Jr, the 4th generation of Kempenaar's, are proud to carry on the family legacy and ensure the nursery operation continues to thrive. With over 19 years of experience, Mike has a driving passion for the landscape, and John Jr has over 17 years of experience and vast knowledge of the Garden Center.

Our Services

At Boulevard Nurseries, we take pride in our Garden Center, which offers a wide variety of flowering shade trees and shrubs, as well as large arborvitae for instant privacy. Our expert staff can also help you special order hard-to-find plants. We carry a quality selection of mulch, screened loam, compost, and crushed stone for all your landscape needs. Delivery is available, and we strive for both perfection and to fulfill our customers' valued expectations.

As a full landscape service, we have assisted numerous homeowners with arborvitae hedge installs for that privacy, shade tree, and shrub installs for a new look, and seasonal property maintenance. We serve Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Jamestown, Tiverton, and Bristol, and are committed to providing exceptional service to our clients.

We are proud to offer a limited supply of Green Giants, a popular and versatile hybrid arborvitae tree. These trees are known for their fast growth rate, towering height, and lush foliage. We offer a range of sizes, from 12ft to 14ft and 14ft to 16ft, and can deliver to Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Little Compton, Tiverton, and Bristol.
