Our Story

Tallen Builders, LLC is more than just a general contractor-it's a legacy built on passion, commitment, and an unwavering dedication to excellence. Our story began in 1982 with Steve Allen, a young man armed with little more than a suitcase, a toolbox, and a dream. He arrived in Ocala, Florida, a complete stranger to the sunshine state, at the age of eighteen. It was a leap of faith, fueled by a relentless work ethic instilled in him from a young age. Delivering newspapers before his teenage years, Steve learned the value of responsibility, accountability, and integrity-qualities that would become cornerstones of his future success.

Steve's carpentry journey wasn't a smooth ride. It took hard work, dedication, and a willingness to embrace challenges. However, it was precisely these challenges that shaped him into the skilled craftsman and successful entrepreneur he is today. After graduating from a vocational technical high school in Massachusetts, Steve embarked on a new chapter, his sights set on building a career in the vibrant world of construction in Central Florida.

In 2005, Steve, alongside his business partner Terry Talbot, founded Tallen Builders, a name that embodied their shared vision and dedication. Terry's invaluable contributions and her memory endure within the company's name even after her tragic passing in 2009.
