Our Story

Leeann Heininger, the founder and owner of Fringe Home Design, had a lifelong dream of opening her own interior design studio. With over 30 years of design experience, Leeann has worked with a diverse range of clients in Oak Park, River Forest, Chicago, and the surrounding areas. She began her career at Northern Trust Company, where she oversaw the design of corporate offices, executive suites, and new banking facilities.

Leeann's passion for design has led her to create a studio that offers full-service interior design, custom draperies and Hunter Douglas blinds and shades, and a curated selection of high-quality furnishings and decor. Her expertise has also allowed her to work with numerous clients, including those residing in architecturally significant homes designed by renowned architects like Frank Lloyd Wright.

Our Design Services

At Fringe Home Design, we offer two distinct design services: In-Home Design and Design by the Hour. Our In-Home Design process begins with a complimentary visit to your home, where our designers will review your needs, offer initial creative thoughts, and outline our design process. We'll then provide recommendations on design and furnishings tailored to your style preferences and budget. If you purchase the proposed furnishings, the design recommendations for the next room are on us!

Our Design by the Hour service allows clients to hire a professional designer for a specific amount of time to address specific design concerns, such as window treatment recommendations, color selection, staging, or accessorizing their home. A three-hour minimum is required for $300.

Meet Our Design Team

Our team is led by Leeann Heininger and Renee Lukas, both experienced professionals with a passion for interior design. Leeann holds a degree in building design and construction from Purdue University and has worked with numerous clients, including those in Oak Park, River Forest, Chicago, and the surrounding areas. Renee Lukas brings 15 years of design and home furnishings experience to her clients, having worked with Baker Knapp & Tubbs, Divine Consign, and Walter E. Smithe.
