Meet Our Designer

Laurie Seubert, the creative force behind Blackbird Design Studio, exemplifies the idea that it's never too late to pursue one's passions. While Laurie brings over 30 years of experience in the world of financial services to her design practice, her true calling lies in transforming spaces and helping clients bring their vision to life. A Rhode Island native, Laurie started her professional journey studying business at the Community College of Rhode Island and Bryant College (now Bryant University). She built a successful career in banking and insurance before deciding to embrace her lifelong love of interior design.

In 2014, Laurie founded Blackbird Design Studio, driven by her desire to share her design expertise with others. To further hone her skills, Laurie sought out the renowned education offered by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She completed RISD's highly regarded interior design certificate program in 2017, solidifying her foundation in design principles and techniques. Laurie's exceptional talent and dedication were recognized in 2017 when her collaboration with Arnold Lumber at the Rhode Island Home Show was featured on the cover of ASID New England's "Design Community" chapter magazine.

The unique blend of design knowledge and business acumen that Laurie possesses allows her to approach each project with practicality and creativity.
