Our journey began with James Dillon, who, after a decade and a half of experience in the landscaping industry, decided to establish Native Havens. James's passion for plants blossomed during his time as a nursery manager and woody plant buyer, where he cultivated an in-depth understanding of diverse plant cultivars. His own expansive garden in Kearneysville, WV, serves as a living laboratory, where he meticulously observes hundreds of plants for their hardiness, pollinator attraction, growth habits, and aesthetic appeal. A strong believer in continuous learning, James regularly pursues continuing education in ecology, incorporating its principles into his landscape designs whenever possible.
Native Havens expanded significantly with the addition of Josh Evans, a remarkably talented designer and horticulturist, whose expertise further enriches our team. Behind every successful project is a dedicated team, and we are immensely grateful for the hard work and dedication of our crew: Chris, Hannah, Abby, and our foreman Skylar, whose years of experience have been instrumental in our growth.
