Installation

Sanding & Finishing

Our sanding and finishing process involves several crucial steps to ensure a smooth, even, and beautiful finish. We use state-of-the-art equipment and premium materials to guarantee exceptional results.

1. Floor Preparation: We meticulously inspect the floor for any debris, dirt, or imperfections.

2. Inspection: We inspect the floor for any nails, screws, or other protrusions that may interfere with the sanding process.

3. Cross-Cut the Floor: We use big machines to cross-cut the floor to flatten it and eliminate any imperfections.

4. Rough-Sanding: We use 50-grit on the big machine to burnish the 36-grit cross-cut lines.

5. Vacuum & Filler: We vacuum the floor and set any nails or staples that are not below the surface.

6. Final Sanding: Using 80 or 100 grit, we sand off the wood filler and sand out the 50-grit lines.

7. Final Edging: We use 80 or 100 grit on the edger to sand out the rough-edging lines.

8. Random Orbit Sander: We use 100 grit on a random orbit sander to blend the transition from the big machine to the edging.

9. Random Orbit Sander (for staining only): We sand out all edging lines with a random orbit sander to prevent edger "swirls".

10. Scrape the Corners: We use a small hand scraper to remove any finish in the corners or areas the edger couldn't reach.

11. Vacuum the Floor: We vacuum the floor to remove any debris or sanding grit before buffing.

12. Buffing: We use the satellite with 120-grit discs to buff the floor, smoothing out the transition from the big machine to the edging.

13. Water-Popping (for specific stain finish): We use the water-popping method to achieve specific stain finishes.
