History

The company was founded by Mr. Conrad P. Ward, who started his career as a mason working for the Rochester Railway and Light Company. In 1913, he decided to go out on his own and started contracting masonry work. The company grew quickly and was incorporated in 1924. Today, we continue to pride ourselves on providing expert services to our clients.

C.P. Ward, Inc. can help design, develop, and complete your construction project. Our services include site clearing, earthwork, site utilities, final grading, asphalt paving, and site restoration. We have a wide array of customers in both the public and private marketplace.

Crane Services

Our fleet includes cranes and support equipment with hoisting capacities from 28 to 350 tons, along with the required licensed personnel to provide safe lifting services. We pride ourselves on providing not only competitive rental rates but also a user-friendly workforce whose daily mission is to get the work performed safely and efficiently.

Emergency Response

We provide 24/7 emergency repairs of every description, including damaged bridges, roadways, and culverts, public buildings, light poles, water mains, and much more. We offer emergency phone contact information for company supervision to ensure immediate mobilization of material, personnel, and equipment.

Large Projects

We can accommodate your large project design and build needs or merely supply a budget estimate. Our professionally executed site review work and feasibility studies provide the peace of mind you need, whether you choose our construction services or that of our competitors.

Traffic Control

We provide specialized equipment and properly trained personnel for work zone traffic control for both New York and Pennsylvania State Departments of Transportation, on an as-needed basis.

Bridge Inspection

Our fleet includes under-bridge inspection units with up to a 60-foot reach and the highly trained staff to get the job done correctly. We perform critical bridge inspection work for a variety of both public agencies and private engineering firms.

Bridge Construction

We enjoy a prominent position in the competitive marketplace for bridge and culvert construction and replacement in both New York State and Pennsylvania. We possess the necessary specialized equipment and qualified supervisors and tradespeople to provide a product that meets strict client requirements.

Equipment Rental

We offer operated and 'bare' rental of a wide range of construction equipment, dump trucks, and sewer cleaning equipment. Additionally, we provide vacuum excavation ("soft dig") and pipeline video inspection services.
