Argonne Lumber & Supply was founded in 1980 by Allen Keepers, who began his journey in the lumber industry at age 18 after a family tragedy destroyed their home in 1975. Recognizing the need for quality materials at reasonable prices, we started operations in a machine shed on our family farm, gradually expanding to 11 buildings and a hardware store showroom. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our contractor-grade lumber, sourced from Canada, the West, and local suppliers, with weekly deliveries covering a 50-mile radius. We pride ourselves on personalized service, employing 19 team members, many from our own family, who embody our welcoming, customer-focused culture. Over four decades, weve built lasting relationships with contractors and DIYers, known for our competitive pricing without compromising quality.

Our expertise extends to architectural design, estimating, and full-service building material solutions, including kitchen and bath products through our dedicated design center. We remain rooted in the values of integrity and community, with Allen often sharing how friendships forged with retired contractors continue to define our legacy. Our Rhinelander location, established in 2009, and Melissa Zalabaks 14-year kitchen design expertise further demonstrate our dedication to meeting diverse customer needs.
