Our story began in 1936, when Marlin Crisp founded the company with a passion for providing high-quality roofing solutions to the Cedar Valley community. Over the years, we have grown and evolved, adapting to the changing needs of our customers and the industry.

Our history is rooted in family, with Marlin's son, Jay, joining him in the business in the mid-1960s. Together, they dedicated themselves to installing and repairing roof systems, including shingles, tile, slate, and low-slope roof systems. Jay would later purchase Service Roofing Company from his father and focus on low-slope commercial roofing, becoming one of the largest and most respected companies in Eastern Iowa.

Today, Service Roofing Company is a family affair, with Chuck Schulte and Andy Miller, two long-term employees with over 40 years of combined commercial roofing experience. Our company has undergone significant changes since 2002, when Jay retired, and we transitioned from a family-owned business to a professionally run organization. In 2015, Andy Miller purchased Service Roofing Company, marking a new era of growth and innovation.
