At Doug Speedling Builders, we've been committed to quality carpentry since 1979. Our history began with farm building and commercial projects in Kellogg, Minnesota, before we relocated to the Twin Cities area in 1984. Since then, we've grown steadily, delivering high-visibility construction projects, from custom homes to commercial projects. Our mission is to provide the best value for our customers through our commitment to quality craftsmanship in wood-type construction.

Our Services

We offer a range of services, including panelizing and pre-building lumber, providing floor and roof truss packages, and offering frame and trim equipment and equipment rental. Our experienced team of carpenters can undertake various carpentry work, including exterior trim, guaranteed lumber, and labor for commercial and residential projects. We also provide wood and Hardi siding, storm damage repair, remodeling, additions, and window replacement.

Our People

We're proud of the team we've built at Doug Speedling Builders. Our team consists of 70-100 skilled and experienced employees, all legally eligible to work in the U.S. and receiving a generous compensation package and full benefits. Our field teams include framers, trimmers, and panel shop staff, while our office staff includes estimators, bookkeepers, human resources professionals, project managers, and draftsmen. We're committed to maintaining and building a positive reputation, and our team is dedicated to upholding our company's values.

Worksite safety is crucial to any construction project, and we maintain high safety and health standards for our employees. Each team member accepts the responsibility for an accident-free work environment and receives ongoing safety training. We continuously monitor safety procedures and conduct weekly on-site inspections. Panelizing & Pre-Building

Panelizing has become an effective and efficient way to construct a sturdy, well-built shell. In our shop, experienced panelizers pre-build walls using this construction method, and install exterior sheathing on the walls. We also pre-build staircases, dormers, fireplace chases, decks, and porch floors, as well as fly rafters for assembly on-site. Before starting a project in the panel shop, we conduct a complete plan review to ensure that the building process goes smoothly and accurately.
