At McComas-Lacina Construction, we take pride in being the largest locally owned general contractor in the Iowa City area. With over 40 years of experience, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. Our story began in 1977 when Charlie McComas and Dave Lacina founded the company with just 50 dedicated team members. Today, we have over 150 highly skilled professionals working together to bring our clients' vision to life.

General Contracting

Construction Management

Our construction management team handles the overall planning and coordination of a project, including the implementation of the design, construction, and post-construction phases.

In-House Cabinet Shop

In addition to our construction services, we have a full-service in-house custom cabinet shop serving contractors, architects, engineers, designers, administrators, and managers. Our custom cabinetry and casework shop has been certified since 2013 and boasts a collective 206 years of craftsmanship with our experienced, skilled, and dedicated employees.

Award-Winning Casework

Our in-house casework operation has been recognized as one of the top 9 AWIQCP certified casework manufacturers in the state of Iowa. This certification demonstrates our ability to fabricate, finish, and/or install work in accordance with quality grade criteria set forth in the Architectural Woodwork Standards.
