Initial Impressions and Issues
When buying a home, it's natural to have high expectations. For some, those expectations may not be met. Nicole N. initially loved the home, but soon discovered issues with the construction quality. The siding fell down, the AC unit was about to fall off, and the sod was incomplete. Despite these problems, Cheryl from the office provided regular updates and reassurances.
Waiting for Fixes and Quality Work
The issues didn't resolve quickly. The siding replacement took two months, with the contractor needing to redo the work multiple times. Meanwhile, the sub-contractor left trash in the driveway, prompting another call to the office. The final retaining wall installation was done without notice, leaving the homeowners surprised.
Positive Aspects
Despite the issues, Nicole N. still loves the house. The interior design, layout, and functionality are well-designed. The insulation is also extremely well-done, keeping the house warm in the winter. The craftsmanship from Bigelow Homes is solid, with no problems with the floors or framing.
Sub-Contractor Concerns
However, Nicole N. notes that Bigelow's sub-contractors do mediocre work, which is something the company should address. On the other hand, her experience with Bigelow's office staff, particularly Cheryl, was excellent.
Other Issues
Shannon D. had a vastly different experience, giving Bigelow Homes a 1-star review. They encountered subpar work from the contractors, from drywall painting to grading the yard. Once the papers were signed, Bigelow ignored their calls and did not return to fix the issues.
