Third Street Studios

Founded in 1978 by Linda Cassone, Robert Agnew, and Russell Tillotson, Third Street Studios is a unique blend of Fine Arts, Theatrical Design, and Traditional Craft. Our three partners bring their collective skills to each project, ensuring that every aspect of the work is done in-house, from the initial meeting to the hands-on accomplishment of the finished product. Our journey began with a focus on Retail Interiors and Displays, as well as live events such as the pre-game show for Super Bowl XXVI and sets and props for film and video. However, as time passed, we discovered a renewed sense of satisfaction in creating work with more permanence, and our focus shifted to Furniture and Residential Interiors.

Design and Technique

At Third Street Studios, we pride ourselves on Attention to Detail, respect for Proportion, and a love of facility with all Styles. Our designs span a range, from Contemporary through Traditional, and our expertise allows us to seamlessly integrate traditional techniques, such as dovetailed or mortised joinery, hand carving, and turnings, with contemporary materials. Our wood finishes may be hand-rubbed or sprayed with catalyzed lacquer, metal can be patinated, plated, or powder-coated, and our range of hand-painted, decorative finishes is limitless.

Services and Process

Our service begins with an initial meeting, where we get acquainted and discuss the parameters of the project. We discuss design fees and our process, and provide multiple conceptual approaches to both expand and narrow down the focus of the design. Budget is also discussed, and as we move toward the final design, we provide a detailed budget and proposal. We offer a range of services, including consultations, design/build, and sourcing/shopping for materials, appliances, fixtures, lighting, hardware, flooring, tile, and more. Our 4000 square foot design and shop facility is located in a thriving mixed-use neighborhood, providing a unique and inspiring space for our clients.
