Our Story

Pearson Construction Company, Inc. was founded in 1914 by Joel Pearson, who emigrated from Sweden in 1914. Over the past century, the company has evolved into a full-service general contracting, design-build, and construction management firm. We have a rich history of providing construction services for over 90 years, dedicating ourselves to delivering exceptional results and building long-lasting relationships with our clients. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation as a nationally recognized firm, providing construction services to various industries, including commercial, industrial, and institutional.

Design/Build

Pearson Construction Company has been providing design/build services for over 50 years. We have the capabilities to facilitate the design and construction of hundreds of buildings for our clients. The design/build method offers several advantages, including a single point of accountability for design and construction, faster project delivery, and constructability reviews by the contractor during design. We also offer design/build lease delivery, where we design and build a facility for a tenant in return for a long-term lease agreement.

Pre-Construction Services

Our pre-construction services provide the necessary planning and planning before the start of a construction project. We offer cost and schedule development, constructability reviews, and value engineering. These services can be provided individually or bundled in a group. Effective use of pre-construction services can result in a reduction of changes during the construction phase and keeping the project on schedule and budget.

General Contracting

We have a wealth of experience as a general contractor for thousands of projects over the last 90 years. Our depth of experience in our field and office personnel sets us apart as one of the best in the industry and unparalleled in Southwest Michigan. We offer various contracting methods based on the needs, requirements, and desires of our clients, including Cost Plus a Fee, Cost Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), Lump Sum, or Time and Materials.

Construction Management

In today's complex construction environment, construction management has become increasingly popular. This method allows the owner and architect-engineer to have a general contractor available during planning and design as well as the construction phase. We work together as a team throughout the entire project, from concept to closeout. We perform under a professional services contract with the owner as either the owner's representative or as a construction manager at risk.

Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

We have a long-standing partnership with various metal building suppliers, offering pre-engineered metal buildings that provide advantages over traditional construction. We work closely with our clients to meet budgetary considerations and future expansion needs.
