Our History

Giroux & Family Masonry is deeply rooted in the heart of Maine, a family-run business with over five decades of experience in the masonry trade. Our story began in 1964 when Robert Giroux, known affectionately as "Papa, " founded Giroux & Son Masonry. With his eldest son, Michel, by his side, Papa tirelessly served the Lewiston/Auburn community, building a reputation for quality craftsmanship and unwavering dedication. In 1978, the company name evolved to Giroux and Sons Masonry as Marcel, the youngest son, joined the family enterprise full-time. Together, the sons carried on the legacy of hard work and excellence established by their father, ensuring the business thrived for many years.

Life often takes unexpected turns, and the brothers' paths diverged as they pursued opportunities in larger masonry contracting companies. However, Marcel's passion for the residential and small-scale commercial masonry work that defined Giroux & Sons remained strong. In 1993, he re-established the family business as Giroux Masonry, assembling a team of highly respected masons who shared his commitment to quality.

Marcel's dedication to the trade extended beyond his own business. He took on the role of a masonry instructor at Maine Vocational Region 10, sharing his extensive knowledge with the next generation of artisans. Even as he transitioned into teaching, he continued to serve the local community through Giroux Masonry, supported by loyal employees like Troy Richards, who dedicated nearly two decades to the company.

A new chapter began in 2011 when Marcel's son, Mason Giroux, joined Giroux Masonry full-time. Having accumulated over 35 years of experience in the field, Marcel felt confident in passing the torch to his son. In 2013, Giroux & Family Masonry Inc. was officially established, carrying forward the legacy of quality craftsmanship and family values that had been the cornerstone of the business since its inception.
