Our History

Our story began when Cresten Madsen Jensen, an immigrant stone mason from Denmark, established his construction business in Sioux City, Iowa in 1898. Over the years, the company expanded its scope of work to include grading, underground utilities, and other general construction. In 1910, Jensen & Krage, the partnership between Jensen and his partner, Krage, began building concrete streets. During World War II, the company focused on military construction throughout the Midwest. The advent of the interstate highway system in 1956 marked a significant shift towards concrete paving, and we became one of the prominent contractors in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
