Our story begins with the meeting of Ed Mitchell and Sheila Meadows in Baltimore, Maryland, on Thanksgiving day in 1982. Ed was an Army sergeant trained as a diesel mechanic and cross-trained as a chemical decontamination tech, while Sheila was the manager of her family's pest control business and a bank reconciliation clerk. This chance encounter would lead to a lifelong partnership, producing five successful children and a 40-year relationship.

As the founder of Beacon Pest Control, Ed spent his career combining his mechanical skills with Sheila's business acumen to create a company that provides the highest quality services to our customers. From the beginning, our goal has been to establish a business that our customers would be proud to recommend to their friends and family.
