Hamed "Ed" Balazadeh, Principal

Since its founding, BOD has been led by the visionary Hamed "Ed" Balazadeh, a seasoned architect with a deep passion for creating exceptional living and working spaces.

Ed's educational journey began at SAMPAD, a prestigious Iranian high school specializing in cultivating exceptional talent. He furthered his architectural expertise at Guilan University, a renowned institution affiliated with the University of Berlin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture. He then continued his studies, obtaining his Master of Architecture from IAU, the largest university in the Middle East.

Ed's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own design-build firm in Iran at the young age of 23. Over the years, he successfully completed numerous distinctive residential and commercial projects in Tehran and Tabriz. Upon relocating to California, he broadened his horizons by joining an established design-build firm, gaining invaluable experience and insights into the American market.

Hamed's profound understanding of all project phases, from conceptualization to final construction, has allowed him to serve as the principal designer for over 300 successful projects. He possesses a unique hands-on approach, having personally managed and supervised the construction of many of these projects, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality.

Driven by his enduring commitment to excellence, Ed founded Elijah Kord Custom Homes, fueled by a vision to seamlessly blend exquisite design with flawless construction. This ambitious endeavor reflects his belief in creating not just houses but bespoke homes tailored to each individual client's unique aspirations.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Hamed is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending quality time with his wife, sons, and extended family. He finds solace in theological studies and the invigorating energy of playing soccer and basketball, reminding him of the relentless drive that has shaped both his personal and professional life.

Mahsa K. Balazadeh, with her sharp eye for detail and passion for design, serves as the cornerstone of BOD's interior design prowess. Graduating with a Bachelor of Business from CSUF, she has transformed her love for aesthetics into a tangible reality, bringing warmth and elegance to every project.
