Avenue Rugs emerged in 1997, founded by Charlie Chartier, with a vision to create sustainable and visually appealing bespoke wool rugs and broadloom carpets tailored for the demanding specifications of commercial interiors.

Our rugs transcend mere decoration; they enhance spaces, elevate acoustics, and act as powerful brand identifiers. Avenue Rugs is deeply rooted in Louisiana, where our design and engineering processes take place in our Mandeville headquarters. While our production relies on carefully selected factories in Asia, we maintain complete ownership of the brand, its distinct designs, and the quality that defines our products.

Chartier brings decades of experience to Avenue Rugs. Prior to founding the company, he established Chartier & Associates, Inc. in 1984, specializing in the commercial flooring industry as a manufacturer's representative and consultant. His firm represented leading brands such as BentleyPrinceStreet, Brintons, DLW, Interface, KarastanBigelow, and Nora, fostering a deep understanding of the intricacies and evolving needs of the market. His commitment to sustainability is reflected in his LEED AP accreditation since 2004, and his active involvement as a founding board member of the Louisiana Chapter of the USGBC.
