Our History

The story of A. Martini & Co. is more than just a business narrative; it's a testament to the enduring legacy of a family committed to excellence. Founded in 1942 by Antonio Martini, a man driven by the American dream, our roots run deep in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Antonio, who had immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1927, envisioned a company built on integrity, hard work, and unwavering dedication to craftsmanship. His small contracting company steadily gained recognition, fueled by his reputation for delivering quality projects and exceeding client expectations. Recognizing a shared vision and the potential for unprecedented growth, Antonio partnered with his trusted friend, Gilbert Auel, in 1951. This partnership gave birth to A. Martini & Co. - A General Contracting Firm.

From its inception, A. Martini & Co. embraced the value of family. Antonio's daughter, Clementine Pittore, played a pivotal role in the company's early years, serving as the company secretary. In 1959, his son, Angelo Martini Sr., joined the firm as a field superintendent, learning the intricacies of construction from his father, a master craftsman.

Guided by Antonio's values and Angelo Sr.'s dedication, A. Martini & Co. continued to expand its services and embrace new challenges. The 1980s witnessed the arrival of Angelo Sr.'s sons, Anthony and Angelo Jr., who now hold the esteemed positions of President and Chief Operating Officer, respectively. Their contributions, coupled with the unwavering commitment of the entire Martini family, have propelled A. Martini & Co. to the forefront of the construction industry.

Reaching a remarkable milestone in 2017, Mollie Martini, Anthony's daughter, joined the family business as a Project Manager, making A. Martini & Co. a truly fourth-generation organization. Mollie embodies the legacy of our founders, diligently contributing to the company's operations and continuing the tradition of excellence. In 2021, Elizabeth Martini, Angelo Jr.'s daughter, joined the firm, bringing her expertise in Business Development and Marketing to the team.
