Our History

Marshall Building Specialties Co., Inc. has been a steadfast presence in the commercial construction distribution business since 1965. Founded by Robert G. Marshall, a seasoned construction professional with a background at Milcor, a division of Inland Steel Company, the company was established with a deep understanding of the needs of the construction industry. From its very beginning, Marshall Building Specialties Co., Inc. has been committed to providing quality commercial construction materials to its clients.

Upon Robert G. Marshall's passing in 1967, his son, Robert T. Marshall, took the helm, guiding the company through continued growth and evolution. Robert T. Marshall's son, Robert W. Marshall, joined the company in 2000, further solidifying the family legacy. In 2018, upon Robert T.'s passing, Robert W. (Bobby) became President, continuing the tradition of excellence and ensuring the company's prosperous future.

Throughout its history, Marshall Building Specialties Co., Inc. has remained at its original location in Indianapolis, Indiana at 1001 E. New York Street. The company expanded its footprint in 1997 with the addition of a second building, further demonstrating its commitment to meeting the needs of its growing customer base. Perfectly situated in the heart of Marion County, the company's location offers unparalleled convenience with easy access to both Interstate 70 and Interstate 65, ensuring efficient delivery and service to a wide range of clients across the region.
