Ghilotti Construction Company is a 100% employee-owned general engineering contractor with over 108 years of experience. Our company has a rich history dating back to 1914, when our founder, James Ghilotti, left his native Italy to seek his fortune in California. With a strong family tradition of hardwork, dependability, and community involvement, we have grown to become one of the leading general engineering contractors in the Bay Area.

Our History

Our story begins with James Ghilotti, a stone mason by trade, who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. With a strong work ethic and a dream of building a better life, he achieved great success in his pursuits. His hard work and entrepreneurial spirit paved the way for his family's involvement in the construction industry, and in 1939, his four sons were working alongside him in a true family business.

Today, Ghilotti Construction Company is proud to continue the legacy of our founder and grandfather, James Ghilotti.
