Our Expertise

As a firm, we have a long-standing history of success in University work, having completed over 150 million dollars in projects for our area universities. Our unique collaborative approach ensures the needs of both faculty and students are met while adhering to your budget and schedule goals.

In healthcare, we have completed hundreds of hospital, laboratory, and private clinic renovations for our healthcare clients. Our success stems from our ability to integrate complex building systems with comfortable patient and staff-oriented environments.

We have extensive experience working with state and local governments. Our designers are equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the procedures and codes that may impact your project, resulting in expedited review processes and direct cost savings.

Our Team

Our team is composed of eleven talented and diverse team members, including four registered architects and five professional designers. We are large enough to accomplish your goals, yet small enough to make your project our priority. Our office culture is familial, creative, and interactive. We work together toward common firm goals and the best interest of our clients. As our client, you will be invited to engage in our design process. We encourage feedback and open communication throughout the entire project life cycle, which results in refined design solutions and efficient project schedules.

Our leadership team includes:

• Charles Nickelson, AIA - an experienced architect with an impressive portfolio of government, higher education, and commercial projects.
• David Daniel, AIA - a talented architect and project manager specializing in the design of premier healthcare and government facilities.
• Rhonda Zack, Assoc. AIA - a highly talented leader and architectural designer who has played a critical role for many of our large-scale government and higher education projects.
• Steve Pulling, AIA - an accomplished architect with a rich portfolio of government, higher education, and public park projects.
• Glenn Parks, AIA - an accomplished architect with a rich portfolio of government, higher education, and public park projects.
• Karen Perry - oversees the firm's accounting data and performs a variety of Human Resources tasks to maintain our day-to-day operations.
• Eileen Carroll - a talented designer who provides design and project management support in many of our healthcare projects.
• Jennifer MacDonald, Assoc. AIA - a highly talented intern working toward her MArch at NCSU.
• Makenzie Morse, Assoc. AIA, IIDA - a thoughtful designer who has a keen understanding of how to add meaningful moments in architecture.
• Eric Wennerstrom, Assoc. AIA - an architectural intern stepping up our rendering game while pursuing his fifth year of BArch at NCSU.
• Emily Currier, Assoc. AIA - an architectural designer with a Masters of Architecture and two years of experience in healthcare and government design.
• Gauri Chalke, Assoc. AIA, IIDA - an architectural designer motivated by a passion to make a positive impact on communities.
