Tree Trimming

Keeping your trees healthy all year long is crucial for their growth and longevity. However, most people are unaware of the correct way to trim a tree. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) recommends guidelines to ensure that trees are trimmed correctly and do not suffer unnecessary stress or damage. A professional arborist understands the science behind tree trimming and can ensure that your trees are trimmed to promote healthy growth.

At American Tree Company, we follow the ISA guidelines and never remove more than 25% of a tree's foliage in one session or reduce its size by more than one-third. We also avoid topping trees, as this can cause significant stress and potentially harm the tree. Our team of arborists are trained to provide expert tree trimming services that enhance the appearance and health of your trees.

Tree / Stump Removal

When it comes to removing a tree or stump, there are several options available. One of the most popular choices is to grind the stump down 12 inches below the soil level, allowing the roots to rot over time. However, some tree roots do not rot, and our arborists will inform you if your tree falls into this category during the bidding process. We can also remove surface roots that may pose a tripping hazard upon request.

Tree removal is a dangerous job that often involves working near homes, fences, power lines, and other obstacles. Our team has over 33 years of experience and uses a variety of techniques, including roping limbs, dropping the tree, or employing a boom truck to safely remove your tree. In some cases, we may need to utilize a crane, which we have access to through our network of equipment providers. Our primary goal is to remove your tree safely without causing any damage to your property.

Tree Planting

Whether you're looking to plant a single tree or multiple trees, we have a wide selection available at our nursery. We maintain a list of trees available for planting, which we order at the beginning of each spring for our valued customers. If you're interested in getting on this list, please contact us in February to reserve your tree.

Our trees range in size from 5-gallon to 24, 36, or 48-inch box trees. Our most popular request is for 15-gallon trees. We will handle every aspect of the tree planting process, including planting, staking, fertilizing, and delivering the trees to your property hassle-free.
