Timber Framing

At Timber Frames by R. A. Krouse, we specialize in traditional timber framing, using a marriage of traditional and advanced techniques. Our timber framing work is done in our shops in Maine and Colorado, and then raised on-site. We use Maine white pine, as well as various other species, to create our timber frames. Timber framing is the use of traditional, hand joinery, utilizing only wood in the construction process. It is a self-supporting structure that does not require the additional reinforcement of interior walls, making it a popular choice for those who prefer open-concept floor plans with rich wood accents.
