Ironwood Contracting, founded in 2006, is located in North Branch, Minnesota. We are a certified small business enterprise and women's business enterprise (SBE/WBE) that specializes in providing a wide range of services, including earthwork, demolition, environmental work, and renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial sites. Our team, led by President & Secretary/Treasurer Jody Swanson and General Manager & Project Manager Randy Swanson, is dedicated to delivering superior service through value engineering.

At Ironwood Contracting, we believe in creating long-term relationships with our clients. We provide versatility to our clients, including owners, general contractors, and developers, by offering a diverse range of services. Our goal is to provide a "one-stop" civil package, which allows our clients to focus on the components upon which they work best.

Our expertise in the renewable energy sector is unmatched. In 2016, we were given the opportunity to provide the civil work for the North Star Solar Farm in North Branch, Minnesota. This project, the largest of its type in the Midwest, is a 1,200-acre/100 MW farm that was up and running in just seven months. Our work on this project was "civil inclusive, " and included all erosion control, demolition of existing structures, clearing/grubbing of several hundred acres, mass grading the 1,200-acre site, road building, and installation of over 12 miles of 8' game fence.

To date, we have provided civil work to solar energy projects that provide over 300 MW of utility scale power, ranging from 3 MW to over 130 MW in size. Our experience in the solar environment on numerous small and large projects has given us a unique ability and opportunity to provide a distinct value to future solar energy projects within our state and nationwide.
