Tree Care Experts, Providing Healthy Trees and a Healthy Environment
Seattle Tree Preservation, Inc. is a company of tree care professionals dedicated to the proper care of trees in the Seattle area urban forest, for the benefit of all that dwell within that forest. We are proud to be a division of Bartlett Tree Experts, and our staff now has the backing of an international tree-care company and tree research laboratory to help continue providing excellent tree service and shrub care in the Seattle area.
Our History
When Seattle Tree Preservation was founded in 1987, we chose the name to distinguish ourselves from the many businesses at the time that did little more than remove trees. In contrast, as a tree care company, we've always tried to find ways to save trees and help them fit into the landscape, with removal as a last resort. The company has grown significantly since the early days, but that core mission has remained the same. In 2018, Seattle Tree Preservation was acquired by Bartlett Tree Experts - a business that shares our values and vision of urban tree care, and also brings significant resources to our customers.
Why Hire An Arborist?
We would like to invite you to take advantage of our unique determination to keep your trees strong, healthy and as safe as possible. Simply call or e-mail to meet with us personally when you have questions or are ready to take action. We have 8 ISA Certified Arborists on staff! If you have a tree problem of any kind, we are available to provide an arborist or a referral to a consultant. Even if there is no current problem, it is often wise to have your property checked by a certified arborist. This can educate you about your trees and prevent any future problems.
Tree Care Services in Seattle, WA
Seattle Tree Preservation Inc employs highly skilled tree care specialists who can help you with a variety of services including:
- Crown Cleaning and Crown Thinning: The removal of dead, dying, diseased, crowded, weakly attached, low vigor branches, and water sprouts from the tree, shrub or hedge. The selective removal of branches to increase light and air penetration/circulation throughout the crown, or to lessen wind resistance and damage potential from storms. Thinning opens the canopy of a tree, reduces weight on heavy limbs, distributes light throughout the tree and helps restore the tree's natural shape.
- Cabling: This process involves the installation of high strength cables or state of the art COBRA nylon cables to support natural flaws in the tree's structure.
- Bracing: Bracing involves the installation of threaded steel rods through trunk and limb cracks or splits.
- Crown Restoration: This involves the re-structuring of the canopy of a previously topped tree by making crown cleaning and thinning cuts.
- Crown Reduction: Thins or heads back branches to reduce tree height and/or spread of the tree canopy by pruning back leaders to lateral branches. In most trees (exceptions being most fruit trees), this procedure is only done as a last resort instead of complete removal.
- Tree Removal: Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. An arborist can help you decide whether or not a tree should be removed. Arborists have the skills and equipment to safely and efficiently remove trees. Removal is recommended when: The tree is dead or dying; The tree is considered irreparably hazardous; The tree is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning; The tree is crowding or causing harm to other trees; The tree is to be replaced by a more suitable specimen; The tree should be removed to allow for new construction.
- Stump Grinding: Stump removal is available as part of our tree removal service.
