Our family-owned business was founded by Jim Melehan, who started his career in the construction industry at a young age. Along with his brother, they built custom homes in Naperville, Downers Grove, and Lisle, Illinois. After the economic downturn in the early 1980s, Jim went on his own and began focusing on room additions and remodeling projects. His wife, Linda, took on the administrative tasks, and together they established Patrick James Builders.

Over the years, our company has grown and evolved. We have expanded our services to include computer-aided design, and our team has grown to include skilled carpenters and experienced project managers. Our sons, Brian and Rory, have joined the business, making us a true family business. We take pride in our work and strive to provide each client with a personalized and professional experience.
