Our journey began with Stephen Johnson, the owner of SM Johnson Construction Inc., who was raised in a family that took pride in building and owning their own homes. His grandfather built his home of 30+ years in 1959, and his parents acted as general contractors for Steve's childhood home. This family tradition instilled in him the importance of hard work and dedication, which he later carried over into his professional life.

Steve graduated from Fauquier High School in 1998 and went on to attend VMI, George Mason, and South Dakota Wesleyan University, where he obtained his BA in Business Administration in 2003. He worked as a project manager for a custom home builder from 2003 through 2010 before starting his own company, SM Johnson Construction Inc., in 2010.

Since then, Steve and his knowledgeable team, which includes his dad, Kerry, and his brother, Andrew, have completed numerous successful renovations and new homes in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Virginia. They are dedicated to meeting your needs as a homeowner, ensuring that every project is treated as if it was their own.
