Columbia native, Matt Westenhaver, continues the family business of providing Columbia with a distinctive building and development style that his father, Ron Westenhaver, began in the early 1970s. Matt joined his dad in the early 2000's working alongside him in the family construction and development company at the Lake of the Ozarks. During this time, Matt worked directly with owners, architects, and subcontractors to oversee projects from design thru completion. As the primary point of contact and designer on multiple projects, he led the day-to-day decisions and construction activities for over 10 years. In 2013, Matt returned to Columbia, and joined a commercial developer as a project manager on some of Columbia's leading student housing accommodations, medical and dental facilities, restaurant, and professional properties. Working in both commercial and residential construction has allowed Matt to realize the importance of a good relationship built between the client and the contractor, and his open, interactive communication style carries over to all projects ensuring a well-informed and positive experience. Whether seeing the transformation of an older structure through a renovation, making plans come to life through a custom home, or finishing a commercial space, Matt understands the process, the people, and their desired result.
