Our History

Our story began when Robert Hartman, our founder, started Maintenance Service Company in 1957. Initially, the business focused on providing supply and service to municipalities in the region, offering a range of services, including fence and guide rail, sign posts, road signs, line striping, and street sweeping. After a decade of success, Bob Hartman decided to focus solely on fencing and guide rail work. His son, Ken Hartman, took over the company in 1977 and continued to grow the business. In 1988, Ken's cousin, Dave Hartman, joined the company and eventually purchased the business from Ken in 1993. Today, Dave's son, Cody Hartman, is part of the team, learning the ins and outs of the business, ensuring a seamless transition for generations to come.
