The Passion Behind the Design

Larina Kase, the firm's founder, brings a lifelong passion for design to every project. Raised in an artistic and design-centric environment, her father was an art and antique dealer, her mother a gallery docent and artist, her grandmother a painter, and her aunt a celebrated interior designer. This artistic heritage deeply influenced Larina's trajectory. She honed her design skills at Cornell University, graduating with Distinction with a degree in Interior Design. She further expanded her knowledge by earning a doctorate in psychology and a master's in business, even authoring several books, including a New York Times bestseller.

Driven by her desire to re-engage with the world of visual creativity, Larina returned to interior design in 2013, establishing Larina Kase Interior Design to serve her local community. The firm represents the perfect synthesis of Larina's passions for art history, business, psychology, architecture, and interior design.

She believes in a collaborative design process, empowering clients to articulate their vision and find expression through the design. Larina's understanding of human behavior and her artistic sensibility allow her to curate spaces that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal and functional. As a mother of three energetic boys, Larina has a particular affinity for creating welcoming and family-friendly environments.

• Shannon Sofranko - Interior Designer: Shannon embarked on her design journey, graduating from the Interior Design program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her early career blossomed in Baltimore, Maryland, working for the prestigious residential and commercial firm Floors Etc. Upon relocating to Philadelphia, she joined Larina Kase Interior Design as a Junior Designer, quickly progressing to Interior Designer. Shannon's creative spirit and passion for design are evident in her imaginative designs. She thrives on collaborating with clients, guiding them through the design process with enthusiasm and ensuring their satisfaction. Shannon brings expertise in both residential and commercial design, proficient in 3D modeling and skilled in transforming spaces with a harmonious blend of classic, vintage, and modern styles.

• Theresa Shropshire - Interior Designer: Theresa's love for art and design blossomed at a young age. After graduating from Fairfield University with a degree in Psychology and Studio Art, she discovered her passion for interior design. A temporary position at an interior design firm ignited her curiosity, leading her to pursue a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design at Moore College of Art and Design. Theresa's extensive experience in commercial design has equipped her with expertise in space planning, furniture and finish selection, as well as proficiency in 3D design and planning programs.
