Our History

Hauge & Hassain, Inc. was founded on August 28, 1967 by Arthur L. Hauge & Kelliel B. Hassain. Initially located at 419 Cedar Street in Seattle, the company set out to be the local leaders in the installation of specialty wall covering. In 1974, the company was sold to Kenneth K. Murray, who expanded the services offered by Hauge & Hassain to include Class 'A' office painting. Under his leadership, the company transitioned away from the flooring side of the business, focusing solely on wallcover installation and commercial painting. In October of 1997, Wayne Lennstrom became the president of Hauge & Hassain, Inc., and under his leadership, the company has expanded its services to include a spray booth for fine finishing of woodwork.

Our Services

At Hauge & Hassain, Inc., we are dedicated to providing the highest quality painting and wallcovering services. Our painting crews are experts at their craft, skilled in standard brush and roll techniques as well as spray applications. We work with a variety of surfaces, including drywall, wood, plastic, steel, aluminum, furniture, cabinetry, and more. Our interior and exterior painting services include the application of acrylics, latex, alkyd oil-based paint, oil and water-based stains, and hybrid enamels.

Our wood finishing services include the application of dyes, stains, toning, glazing, and brightening, as well as clear coats such as water-based acrylics, lacquers, conversion varnish, polyurethanes, and shellac finishes. We also offer metallic finishes, specialty coatings, deck and floor coatings, and anti-graffiti coatings.

In addition to our painting services, we specialize in wallcovering installation. Our expert crew of wallcover installers are trained and skilled in the application of any type of wallpaper, including foils, specialty bark, and more.
