Home Builders Association Of Greater New Orleans

The Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) is a professional organization that has been serving the residential housing industry in Louisiana since 1941. Our mission is to be the voice of the residential housing industry in Greater New Orleans, enhancing the climate and protecting the business interests of our membership. We promote quality, affordable housing, educate members and the public on industry business and association goals, promote ethical and professional standards for the industry, and encourage responsible citizenry through active community involvement.

As a non-profit professional organization, we provide a platform for builders, associate members, and other stakeholders in the housing industry to collaborate, share knowledge, and advocate for the interest of our members and the industry. Our membership comprises over 1,000+ builders and associate members across seven parishes in Louisiana, including Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. John the Baptist, St. James, St. Charles, Plaquemines, and Orleans.

Services

We offer a range of services to our members and the community, including:

• Continuing Education: We provide continuing education opportunities to our members, keeping them updated on the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Networking Opportunities: Our events, such as the Parade of Homes and Home & Garden Show, provide opportunities for members to connect with peers, build relationships, and do business.
• Advocacy: We actively lobby and monitor local, state, and federal legislation to ensure that our members' business interests are well-represented and protected.
• Code of Ethics: Our members commit to a Code of Ethics, which promotes professional standards and ethics in the industry.

Committees and Councils

We have various committees and councils that allow members to get involved and contribute to the growth and development of the industry. These committees and councils include:

• Budget & Finance Committee: Reviews and monitors the budget performance throughout the year.
• Executive Committee: Guides staff on the execution of day-to-day operations.
• Golf Tournament Committee: Plans and executes the annual Golf Tournament.
• Legislative Committee: Monitors local and state legislative actions and coordinates with the HBAPAC for lobbying efforts on behalf of membership.
• Membership Committee: Focuses on membership recruitment and retention.
• Parade of Homes Committee: Plans and executes the Parade of Homes event.
