Building Energy is a Vermont-based company that has been a leading provider of solar power and energy efficiency services since 2007. Our mission is to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings and preserve healthy building environments through our "Whole Systems Approach" to building performance. We incorporate conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy to provide comprehensive solutions to complex energy problems.

Our story began in 1981 when Northeast Construction, Inc. was founded, known for its quality carpentry, construction, and customer service. In 2007, our founder, Scott Gardner, decided to leverage his team's experience and pivot the business to effect a positive change on the environment, thus Building Energy was born. We expanded our services to include weatherization, heating/cooling solutions, and solar, providing customers with a whole systems approach to their homes' efficiency, from renewable energy to home efficiency, all under one roof.

Our track record demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to energy efficiency and quality building practices. We have been granted "Energy Partner" status by Efficiency Vermont and have been honored with one of our projects being named "One of two tightest houses ever tested in Vermont." Our team consists of Building Performance Institute "Building Analyst Professional" and "Envelope Professional" certified experts, a national training and certification agency dedicated to the advancement of sound building practices and promotion of energy conservation technologies.

• Solar Power: We provide sun-powered solutions with fair pricing, local service, and reliable communications, backed by 13 years of experience. Our Solar Office is powered by our rooftop and pole-mount solar array, with 3.1 Megawatts of solar panels installed to date in Vermont!
• Weatherization & Insulation: We are leading the charge in design and implementation of residential and commercial insulation, providing solutions that lower your bills and emissions while maintaining more consistent temperatures. Our BPI certified energy auditors are structural scientists, bringing decades of experience to the table.
• Construction: We have been creating efficient spaces for generations of Vermonters, from remodeling to new home construction. We are fully licensed, insured, and reliable, offering honest construction services so you know what to expect!
• Heat Pumps: Our cold climate heat pumps provide heating and cooling from one efficient system! Air to air cold climate heat pumps have become more efficient and now work effectively in climates with extreme cold such as Vermont, offering a new low impact way to control your home's temperature.
• Energy Audits: Our energy audits assess your home's energy consumption and determine which measures would best help to make your home more energy efficient. With an energy audit, you become eligible to receive substantial financial incentives from Efficiency Vermont for thermal improvements you make to your home. The Audit itself includes a thorough inspection of your home, appliances, heating systems, and thermal envelope, using specialized equipment including infrared cameras (weather permitting) and a blower door depressurization test.
