Our Story

Mark and Emily Maeda, our founders, have a deep love for the beauty of Colorado's natural environment. Growing up in Colorado, they developed a strong appreciation for the state's unique landscape and a desire to bring that beauty into people's lives. After moving back to Colorado from Arizona, they founded Tree of Life Landscapes in 1998, driven by their passion for sustainable landscape design, native plants, and good design principles.

Our process begins with a thorough consultation to understand our clients' needs and goals. We then work closely with our clients to design and install landscapes that not only look stunning but also promote sustainability and water conservation.

Our Design Process

Our design process is built upon the principles of order, unity, and rhythm. We use state-of-the-art design software to create 2D and 3D models that bring our clients' visions to life. Our plans communicate the vision for their landscape, and we believe that our designs will help them grasp the potential for their space.

Our Team

Our team of experts includes Mark and Emily Maeda, who co-founded Tree of Life Landscapes, along with senior designers Johnny Moore and John Roberts. Johnny, a native of the rural South, brings his love of nature and design to our team. John, a born-and-bred Coloradan, has a background in law enforcement and project management. Together, our team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and delivering outstanding results.

Our Features

We offer a range of features to enhance our clients' outdoor spaces. Our annual pots add seasonal interest with colors and textures that differ from our perennials. We've designed and built water features for commercial and residential landscapes, from contemporary Corten steel fountains to naturalized bubbling boulders. Our masonry expertise ranges from ornamental to naturalized stone, paver, boulder, brick, and concrete projects. We've also designed and installed outdoor kitchens with varying complexities and special features.
