Our Story

Our journey began in the early 1900s when John H. Shaw started a small electrical contracting company on the city's east side. His son, Charles Firth Shaw ("Firth"), joined the family contracting business in the late 1930s. In 1957, Firth left the contracting business and founded Shaw Electric Supply Company. Firth's mission was to revolutionize the traditional electrical supply house by offering not only quality products at wholesale prices but also technical expertise and problem-solving solutions for a wide range of electrical applications.

Meet Our Team

Over the years, Shaw Supply has been passed down through generations, with John F. Shaw and his wife, Sue, taking over the business after Firth's passing in 1990. In 2012, John's two sons, Brian and Patrick Shaw, became owners and managing partners of the company. Patrick, a summa cum laude graduate from St. Louis University with a BSBA in Finance and Accounting, joined Shaw Supply in 2007 and became co-owner and Vice President in 2012. Patrick and his wife, Carol, live in the Brookside area with their dog, Bear.
