Gruber Excavating, a family-owned business based in East Helena, Montana, has been serving the Helena area for over 30 years. Founded in 1983 by Bill Gruber, the company started as a small operation with a dump truck and a backhoe, digging basements, waterlines, and septic systems. Over the years, Gruber Excavating has grown to become a trusted name in the excavation and landscape industry, catering to individual homeowners and construction companies alike.

The company's reputation is built on a commitment to quality and customer service. Bill Gruber, a Navy SeaBee veteran with a wealth of experience in road and bridge building, started the company after traveling all over Montana building the interstate system. His desire to be home with his family led him to found Gruber Excavating, which has since grown to become a successful business with a team of dedicated professionals.

In 2005, Bill hired his son-in-law, Chris, who quickly took on the role of superintendent and then Vice President. Another son-in-law, Chad, joined the team in 2007 as head mechanic and operator. Both Chris and Chad have been instrumental to the success of the company, with Chris officially taking over as the owner along with his wife Corri in January 2015.

Bill Gruber passed away in January 2016, but his legacy and commitment to the work he loved continue through his family. Chris and Corri are committed to providing superior quality services with personalized service to the community and surrounding areas.
