Our Story
Allied Construction, one of the oldest and most trusted interior construction companies in the Midwest, has been meeting the needs of general contractors, architects, developers, building owners, and managers for over 70 years. The company was founded in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1950, by Robert Maddox, with the goal of providing high-quality craftsmanship, service, and value in interior construction services. Over the years, Allied Construction has expanded its operations across the Midwest, opening offices in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Kansas.

Our Legacy
Allied Construction's legacy begins with Robert Maddox, who volunteered to enlist in the U.S. Army Air Corp after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. During World War II, Maddox served as a B-29 Superfortress crew member, carrying out numerous missions over the Pacific Theater and earning the Distinguished Flying Cross on one of their early missions.
After the war, Maddox worked several sales positions in Minneapolis before teaming up with his brother-in-law to sell and install Perma-Stone brand home and building facades. In 1950, the Maddox family moved to Iowa so that Bob could run Perma-Stone of Des Moines, a new franchise awarded to him and two partners. That same year, Bob oversaw a contract awarded to the partners for plastering work on the new Lucas State Office Building in Des Moines.
